It is currently the highest-performing white pigment globally, accounting for over 70% of total inorganic pigment production and 95.5% of total white pigment consumption. Product Types

Based on crystal structure, titanium dioxide is primarily classified into the following two types:

1. Anatase Titanium Dioxide (Anatase, or "A-type")
High whiteness and bright tone

Relatively open crystal lattice structure; exhibits strong photochemical activity

Relatively poor weather resistance; prone to chalking and yellowing in outdoor environments

Suitable for applications with lower weather resistance requirements, such as interior coatings, papermaking, inks, rubber, and cosmetics

2. Rutile Titanium Dioxide (Rutile, or "R-type")
Dense and stable crystal lattice; offers excellent weather resistance and chalking resistance

Reflectance is 25%–30% higher than that of the anatase type, allowing for a 25%–30% reduction in dosage while maintaining the same hiding power

Resistant to UV radiation; resists chalking in outdoor settings and maintains good gloss

Widely used in applications requiring high weather resistance, such as exterior wall coatings, automotive paints, marine paints, powder coatings, and plastics 

Selection Recommendation: Choose the anatase type if the product is intended for indoor use or if cost-efficiency is a priority; choose the rutile type if the product requires long-term outdoor exposure or high durability.

Coatings Industry
Titanium dioxide is the most important white pigment in the coatings industry, widely used in interior and exterior architectural coatings, automotive coatings, marine coatings, powder coatings, coil coatings, and more. It significantly enhances the hiding power, gloss, and weather resistance of coatings.

Plastics Industry
The plastics industry is the second-largest consumer of titanium dioxide, accounting for approximately 20% of total consumption. Titanium dioxide enhances the whiteness, brightness, and hiding power of plastic products while improving heat, light, and weather resistance, effectively protecting against UV degradation. It is widely used in packaging materials, automotive interiors, home appliance casings, piping, and masterbatches.

Papermaking Industry
The papermaking industry accounts for 11% of total titanium dioxide consumption. Used as a paper filler, titanium dioxide significantly improves the whiteness, opacity, gloss, and smoothness of paper. It is particularly widely used in high-grade and lightweight papers.

Ink Industry
